SnapCal Privacy Policy

SnapCal is developed and operated by Opaic ("SnapCal," "we," or "us"). SnapCal turns notice photos, files, and text into Calendar events and Reminders that you review before saving. This Policy explains how data is handled when you use the App.

1. Summary

  • Text recognition (OCR) runs on your iPhone.
  • Schedule extraction uses a cloud AI service. Recognized text and, only when needed for layout or image understanding, a compressed notice image are transmitted over HTTPS.
  • Notice source files, recognized text, parsed schedules, and import history are stored locally in the App sandbox.
  • SnapCal does not sell data, display ads, track you across apps or websites, or use notice content for advertising.
  • Calendar and Reminders are changed only after you review and confirm the selected items.

2. Data We Process

Anonymous account data

SnapCal creates an anonymous cloud account so the cloud parser can authenticate requests and enforce usage limits. We process an anonymous user ID, authentication tokens, project identifier, and account status. SnapCal does not require your name, email address, phone number, or social login in this release.

Notice content

When you import a notice, the original source file and OCR result are stored locally. For schedule extraction, SnapCal sends:

  • recognized notice text and parsing context such as current date, locale, and time zone; and
  • a compressed, orientation-corrected image with metadata removed when text alone is insufficient.

Our gateway records request metadata such as message counts, model preset, token usage, status, and billing outcome. It does not store the notice text, image data, or generated schedule body in the audit record.

Device and network data

For signup-credit abuse prevention, SnapCal sends a one-way hash derived from device information. The service also receives standard network data, including IP address and request time. These values are used for authentication, rate limiting, fraud prevention, and service security, not cross-app tracking.

Calendar and Reminders

With your permission, SnapCal reads available Calendar/Reminders destinations and writes only the items you confirm. It stores the resulting Apple identifiers locally so an import can be reviewed or undone. SnapCal does not upload your existing Calendar or Reminders database.

3. How We Use Data

We process data only to:

  • authenticate the anonymous account;
  • extract schedule information requested by you;
  • enforce credits, rate limits, and abuse controls;
  • diagnose failed requests and maintain service security;
  • write, verify, or remove the Calendar and Reminders items you selected; and
  • respond to support, privacy, or security requests.

4. Service Providers

SnapCal uses the following providers only as needed to deliver the service:

  • Supabase for anonymous authentication and account/credit records;
  • OpenRouter to route cloud AI parsing requests;
  • Google Gemini, reached through OpenRouter, to extract structured schedule data; and
  • Apple system frameworks for Photos, Vision OCR, Calendar, and Reminders on your device.

5. Storage and Retention

  • Local source files, OCR text, parsed schedules, and history remain in the App sandbox until you clear local data, delete the cloud account, or uninstall SnapCal.
  • Notice content is transmitted for the requested AI operation but is not persisted in SnapCal's application database or LLM audit record.
  • Anonymous account, credit, and request-audit records remain while the account is active and are removed when you use in-app account deletion, except where limited security records must be retained by law.
  • Operational network logs are retained only for service security and incident investigation under our infrastructure retention controls.

6. Your Controls

You can:

  • deny Camera, Photos, Calendar, or Reminders permission in iOS Settings;
  • review and edit all extracted items before saving;
  • remove a SnapCal-created Calendar or Reminders batch from its notice details;
  • clear local history and source files in SnapCal Settings; and
  • delete the anonymous cloud account in SnapCal Settings.

Deleting the cloud account also clears local SnapCal history and source files. Calendar and Reminders items you already added remain on your iPhone unless you remove them separately.

7. Security

External traffic uses HTTPS/TLS. Authentication tokens are stored using platform-protected storage. Local files and databases remain in the App sandbox. Access to cloud records is restricted by user and App project identifiers.

No transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Contact us promptly if you believe your account or data has been compromised.

8. Children

SnapCal is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children. A notice may contain information about a child, school, health appointment, or other person. Import content only when you have authority to process it and review the extracted data before saving.

9. International Processing

Cloud providers may process data in the United States or other regions where they operate. By requesting cloud parsing, you authorize the transfer needed to perform that request, subject to this Policy and provider safeguards.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy when the App, providers, or legal requirements change. The current version and update date are published on this page.
